If your daughter is in year 6 in September 2023 and loves coding and tech challenges, we would love her to join us for our year 6 Techathon. The first of several events for year 6 girls who are thinking about joining Shrewsbury High in year 7 in September 2024, this is a fun and informal chance for girls to spend the morning with us.

Join us for the first of our Ready Steady Girl events of the autumn term 2023. If your daughter is aged between 3 and 4 and is preparing to start school in September 2024, she will love getting messy in our outdoor kitchen and exploring our forest school area.

Always a popular event for year 6 girls as a great introduction to life at SHS – a morning of fun activities with senior teachers to get to know the school and some of their peers a bit better – relaxed and informal, it is a wonderful way to spend time with us and find out a bit more about what is on offer at the senior school.

Ahead of your daughter sitting the 11+ entrance assessment in January 2024, a taster day is a wonderful way for her to experience a typical day in the senior school at Shrewsbury High. She will try some year 7 lessons, meet senior teachers and spend another valuable day with other girls who will be joining her at the High School in year 7. For those girls and families who haven’t decided on the next school for their daughter, it is an excellent opportunity to get a flavour of life at SHS to help you in your decision making.
Book nowHear from Professor Alice Roberts at Shrewsbury High School. A one off event where she will be speaking about her inspirational career.
Professor Roberts has presented more than a hundred television documentaries, on subjects relating to human biology, history, and archaeology. Recent work includes Ancient Egypt by Train and Fortress Britain (Channel 4). In 2023, the tenth series of Digging for Britain returned to BBC Two. Alice also presented Curse of the Ancients and Royal Autopsy for Sky History.

The evening starts at 7pm with Professor Roberts speaking for one to one and a half hours before a Q&A. Following the talk, refreshments will be served and there will be a chance to have books signed.
