Every year girls leave Shrewsbury High School for a variety of exciting destinations and this year looks to be no different.  For those students who aspire to Oxford and Cambridge, the admissions process is rigorous and hugely competitive.

Therefore, we are delighted to congratulate Pippa Simcock and Kate Dixon on having received offers at these universities for September 2024.  Pippa has been offered a place at Hertford College, Oxford to read Geography and Kate has been offered a place at Magdalene College, Cambridge to read Modern and Medieval Languages.

This is an outstanding achievement for both girls who joined SHS together in year 4 and shared their ambitions to head for Oxford and Cambridge whilst still at junior school.  They are passionate about their subjects and have worked incredibly hard to achieve these offers, with the full support of their subject tutors and Mrs Tinney, Shrewsbury High’s Competitive Universities and Oxbridge Coordinator.

For Pippa and Kate, as for all of our year 13s, they will now be focusing on A level exam preparation ahead of their final term at SHS.
