I am astonished at how quickly the first half term of the year has come to a close, and as we reach a much-needed two-week break, it seems fitting to reflect on a busy and productive start to the academic year.
Our students, as always, have worked incredibly hard, and we are proud of the progress they have made both in and out of the classroom. A huge thank you to both our staff and yourselves for the continued support in helping our girls thrive. And this week may have been a complete washout, but our spirits have been held high thanks to the positive energy that our close-knit community generates.
The half-term break is a chance for students to rest, recharge, and enjoy some downtime with family and friends. When school resumes on Monday 4th November, we’ll be diving into the next phase of the year with renewed energy and enthusiasm, and we’re excited about what’s to come, after all, Christmas is one of the very best times to be in school!
For those who are able to attend our very special 140th annual Art Exhibition in the Footprint Gallery at Fusion in Jackfield tonight from 6pm, we look forward to seeing you there and raising a toast to our brilliant, talented students.
Wishing you all a restful, enjoyable, and hopefully dry half-term break!

If you can’t make it tonight, don’t worry, as the exhibition runs from the 19th to 27th October.

Dogs on School Site
As a reminder to parents, dogs must not routinely be brought onto the school site without the permission of the Head in advance of the visit. This includes when dropping off or collecting children.
If permission is given, then the dog may accompany parents on site but must be under the control of the parent at all times. However they are not allowed in any school buildings or on school playing fields or in the junior gardens. It is the responsibility of the owner to ensure that the dog is healthy, appropriately vaccinated, suitably trained and insured and that they clean up after their dog. Further details are available in the policy below.
It’s beginning to look like…our annual Christmas Card Competition!
Christmas may feel like a long way off, but with only 68 days to wait until the big day, Mr and Mrs Millichamp have started getting into the festive spirit! And as such, consider the annual Christmas card competition for seniors and juniors respectively officially launched. And with a two-week half term approaching, there is no better time to start getting creative.
Entry requirements are as follows:
Use A4 or A5 plain paper/card
2D in design – no glitter, raised areas etc. as these do not replicate well.
Bold colour and limited negative space.
Any wording must be clear and bold (but avoid it if you can and especially avoid writing in biro).
Name and class written neatly on the reverse in pencil.
Entries must be in school by Monday 11th November and be taken to the Art House or Mrs Millichamp’s office.
For juniors, two of the entries will also be submitted into the GDST Competition.
Good luck!
