A wonderful evening with BBC Broadcaster, author and endurance sports enthusiast Louise Minchin who spoke about her career, and her second book “Fearless, Adventures with Extraordinary Women”, reflecting her passion for celebrating women’s sporting success. In each chapter Louise takes on a difficult challenge with a different courageous woman to tell their incredible stories. As part of it she has swum from Alcatraz, free dived under ice in the dark in Finland, went wild caving, and walked across Dartmoor.
Addressing the audience (who had battled through rain, wind and floods to get here), Louise also recognised the importance of young girls seeing their mothers taking part in regular sports or activities and it has been this motivation that has spurred her on through many of her adventures. She’s delighted that her own daughters have now also found their own life-long sporting passions.
Following her presentation, Louise took questions from the audience before signing her new book Isolation Island and chatting with audience members. Another fascinating evening at Shrewsbury High.
