On 18th June 2021, we said goodbye to our Year 13s with our Leavers’ Service in the Old Hall.  Whilst we were unable to celebrate in usual style with parents and families joining us, we were able to live stream the event so that former pupils and families could join us virtually.

Year 13 pupil Kitty wrote and composed this beautiful song “Ties that bind”, performed by her year 13 classmates to mark this very special occasion.  She accompanies them on the piano.

Ties that Bind by Kitty Littlar

Summers past gone
The air tastes so sweet now we have moved on
Years on replay
With friends new and old that we made on the way
Half a life time found within these halls
Soon to be old faces of girls from long ago

I’ve gotta leave but it’s all alright
Even we know when it’s time
Gotta leave but it’ll all be fine
10 years down the line I’ll fondly remember the summer time
with these ties that bind.

Watch as they grow
With that same scared excitement as our own
That mirror of time
The comfort of knowing some things stay the same line

Half a lifetime found within these halls
Soon to be old faces of girls from long ago

We’ve gotta leave but it’s all alright
Even we know when it’s time
Gotta leave but it’ll all be fine
10 years down the line I’ll fondly remember the summer time
with these ties that bind.

From young ones with too big blazers, skirts too long
Teachers our appraisers
To who we are now
You’ll find our red jumpers in the lost and found

We’ve gotta leave but it’s all alright
Even we know when it’s time
Gotta leave but it’ll all be fine
10 years down the line I’ll fondly remember the summer time
with these ties that bind.
