SENIOR SCHOOL TEACHING ASSISTANT

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Teaching Assistant to join our Senior School team who will play a crucial role in enhancing the learning experience of our students.

The successful applicant will support students academically and pastorally across Years 7-13 who experience barriers to learning. Primary support will be with a Year 10 student with additional needs. This role is seen as central to further enhancing our provision and is aimed at enhancing the learning experience of a wide range of students through one-to-one sessions, small group delivery, in class support and the delivery of study skills sessions across the school. The successful candidate will work closely with the Head of Learning Enhancement (SENDCo), the Learning Enhancement faculty and staff more broadly to further the effectiveness of teaching and learning at Shrewsbury High School.

The post is Fixed Term for one year in the first instance, 36 hours per week, Term Time only plus 5 days.

PART-TIME TEACHER OF BIOLOGY (0.8)

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Part-Time Teacher of Biology to join our highly regarded Biology department to cover a maternity leave from November 2024. This is an excellent opportunity for a passionate educator to make a significant impact on our students’ learning during this period.

Candidates must have the ability to teach from Year 7 to Sixth Form with experience of delivering GCSE and Advanced level essential. Our Biology Department engages in considerable STEM work with our Science faculty also extending its activities to operate a Bio-Medical Society, for potential Medics, Dentists, Vets, etc.

RELIEF MINIBUS DRIVER

We require relief minibus drivers to join our regular driving team to ensure cover for the transport of pupils to and from school, school trips, sporting fixtures and other activities.  Hours will be dependent on what support is required.  Hours would be Monday to Friday, term time only. £12.00 per hour, plus holiday pay allowance.  A full clean driving license with category D1 or CPC, previous Minibus driving experience and good interpersonal skills are all essential.  Police checks, references, medical and driving assessment will be required, as well as the need to pass the relevant First Aid Course & participate in MIDAS Training
