Ready Steady Girl

Through our innovative, activity-based and thought provoking Ready Steady Girl programme, our Junior girls become Real World Ready, equipped with a toolkit of skills and dispositions to ensure the “confidence gap” stays firmly closed.

Inspired by the World Economic Forum’s top 10 skills needed for future employment, our girls go on a personal journey of discovery through completing challenges that develop empathy, perseverance, individuality, and creativity. They are encouraged to explore ordinary but puzzling concepts, to improve their analytical and creative thinking and to encourage curiosity and a lifelong love of learning.

Foundations for a Bright Future

The foundations for a bright future are built in early years education.  A child’s world view and social skills are shaped at a young age and GDST Junior School girls are more comfortable talking to people with different views to their own, and far more likely than girls at mixed-sex and non-GDST schools to think that school prepares them to work well in a team.  Read more about the Junior School Effect in the GDST’s Girls’ Futures Report.
