The Girls’ Day School Trust is a family of 23 schools and two academies across England and Wales, uniquely placed to help pupils make the most of today’s opportunities. The team of educational experts at GDST are leaders in their field and work closely with their schools to shape the future of education.

Shrewsbury High School is part of that family. We believe being part of the GDST family of schools gives our pupils many advantages and joins them to a global network of excellence and opportunity. We are the only GDST School in the local area and as such we are able to bring all the advantages of this powerful network to our girls.

We were born out of rebellion and resolve and events of recent years have made it very clear that the purpose of the GDST is a vital one; it is imperative to educate our girls to aspire to equality and freedom from gender stereotypes. We are dedicated to helping every pupil fulfil their potential and dreams.

Girls joining Shrewsbury High join the country’s most extensive contacts book, the GDST Alumnae network of over 70,000 brilliant women. Through our Alumnae team and our pioneering Rungway app our girls can connect with, and seek advice from, GDST alumnae in a huge range of different professions both at school and beyond. Our pupils are GDST ‘girls for life.’
