Where girls learn without limits.
The Girls’ Day School Trust (GDST) is the leading network of girls’ schools in the country. The schools of the GDST were born of rebellion and resolve because our founding mothers knew that if girls were given an education dedicated to their needs that it would be for the betterment of all society.
As part of the GDST family, our girls have a wealth of opportunities at their fingertips that individual schools would be unable to offer, via collaboration between schools and across our alumnae network. We are the only GDST school in the local area and as such we are able to bring all the advantages of this powerful network to our girls.
SHS girls take part in a number of GDST events across the year, from Trust wide sports and music events and competitions to Junior and Senior Techathons, GDST Science and English partnerships with the Royal Institution and Globe Theatre and Maths conferences at Oxford University.
These events provide opportunities for team work, competition and the chance to apply their classroom learning to real world scenarios. Our pupils also have a lot of fun making new friends with pupils at GDST schools from Newcastle to Wimbledon.
Our students can also undertake the interactive and self-paced GDST LEAD (Leadership Enterprise Advanced Diploma) initiative and the GDST Space Technology Diploma.
